All things must come to an end…

I started this blog as a way to vent, share and write. I have enjoyed most of it, but think it’s time to move on. I will be starting a new blog about every day life and challenges of working full time, attending school full time, putting a daughter through college, trying to budget it all, all on my own. I am a very strong and independent woman, because that’s how my mother raised me to be, plus I had very strong female role models growing up. Thanks to all the readers and I look forward to the next chapter of my writing.

Appreciate what you have…

Someone I met and got to know, me and some co-workers went to lunch with. As I sat their, he told us how him and his wife quit their jobs and bought a small house with an amazing ocean view, in paradise. As I sat their listening to him and his wife tell us how they decided not to wait until they were old to enjoy life, but to do it now, I was so jealous. They showed us pictures of this small house by the water on an island, with an amazing view. It was a dream come true. They both worked hard and earned it. They sold their big house here in the United States and also, bought a small condo by the water here. They would live half the year here and half the year in paradise. Anyone would be jealous. Then when I heard their story, I no longer was jealous, but grateful, for the children I had, but at the same time, sad for them, for the children they couldn’t have. They bought the big house in hopes of filling it with children, but that wasn’t to be for them. They could afford to live in paradise and here, because the money they saved for the children they would have, wouldn’t be used. My heart broke for them. They are amazing people and would have made amazing parents. I see so many people with children that don’t appreciate them and then others, like this couple, who can’t have them. I’m glad they are able to live out their dream, but sad as it wasn’t their original dream. Although they are enjoying life to the fullest, traveling, living in paradise, I’m sure they would trade it all, for a child or children. So I’m no longer jealous of them (ok a small part still is), because I have two beautiful and amazing children and one amazing granddaughter. If I had the chance, I would never ever trade them, for any amount of money or paradise. So don’t be jealous of others, as you never know what they couldn’t have or don’t have, to be able to have or do what they do. Appreciate all that you have, as you may not have the life you dreamed, but the life that was meant for you. Every day and everyone in your life is a blessing, so be thankful for what and who you have.
